Engage PEO Opens Oklahoma City Office and Adds Vice President of Sales Joe Sarvadi

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. – April 27, 2015 – Engage PEO, a leading professional employer organization providing HR outsourcing solutions to small and mid-sized businesses across the U.S., today announced the addition of Joe Sarvadi as Vice President of Sales for Oklahoma City. Sarvadi will be responsible for expanding the company’s presence and sales efforts throughout the state, as well as building relationships with insurance broker partners to continue to bring Engage’s suite of HR and benefits solutions to companies throughout the country.

Sarvadi has 17 years of sales experience, 10 of which are in the PEO industry. Before joining Engage, he held senior business consultant positions at several large HR outsourcing firms and a leading managed print services company. Sarvadi also served as a Regional Sales Manager for Verizon in the Dallas market.

Sarvadi holds a bachelor’s of science degree in Political Science from Gannon University. He is a member of the Oklahoma City Business Chamber and has received various sales awards and recognition for his performance including District/Area Manager of the Year 2007 and 2008, Regional Manager of the Year 2003, 2004, 2012, and is an eight-time President’s Club Award winner.

Good News For PEO Clients Eligible for the 20% Pass-Through Deduction

The Treasury Department and IRS issued formal guidance today clarifying that being a client of a PEO does not affect the eligibility of pass-through entities for the 20 percent tax deduction in Section 199A of the tax code.

The tax reform bill passed at the end of 2017 created Section 199A—allowing taxpayers to deduct the "combined qualified business income amount" from a pass-through entity in an amount up to 20 percent of the taxpayer’s taxable income.
