Religious discrimination is an area of strong interest (and enforcement attention) of the EEOC. Employers should ensure that managers know the EEOC guidelines, as well as the company’s policies, by providing periodic training to all managers. These trainings should especially cover policies relating to scheduling, dress codes and grooming standards – three of the most common areas of company policies that can run afoul of certain religious practices.
