Debra is an assistant general counsel and human resources consultant for Engage.
Debra works with Engage clients in Texas and across the country, providing guidance on a wide range of labor and employment issues.
A licensed attorney and accomplished human resources professional, Debra has a decade of experience advising clients in employment law matters and human resource policies and practices. Prior to joining Engage, Debra served in various roles of increasing responsibility for the Houston Independent School District. Her work included leading performance and continuous improvement programs, including the administration of employee appraisal and development systems. Debra also oversaw teacher contracts and other policy standards, and trained supervisors on the resolution of grievances, the Texas Education Administration (TEA) hearing process, and progressive discipline, among other human resource and employment law topics.
Debra received a bachelor’s degree from Texas Southern University and a Juris Doctor from the Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University.
