Engage is an innovative and fast growing PEO seeking an experienced Garnishment Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position provides expertise to our clients in the area of wage attachments including review, set-up and processing of garnishment orders; responses to client and employee inquiries and timely payment of garnishment distributions.  Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and solid time management skills are required to ensure our clients are served at an uncompromising level of excellence. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Processes court ordered wage garnishments to include, but not limited to, federal and state levies, child support, student loans, creditor garnishments, wage assignments and bankruptcy orders

  • Enters deductions on Worksite Employee master files

  • Sets up garnishment vendors appropriately

  • Collects and maintains electronic files for all withholding orders

  • Reviews and sets up garnishment orders including preparation of orders and correspondence for scanning

  • Ensures wage garnishment orders are entered into the payroll system correctly and timely

  • Assists the Payroll Manager in evaluating all garnishment-related payroll disbursement checks, and determines required next steps for timely and accurate assignment of wage garnishments

  • Assists the Payroll Manager and Finance department in ensuring accurate and timely reconciliation of garnishment accounts, and in establishing and maintaining Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) of payments that comply with jurisdiction rules

  • Responds to interrogatories and agency/court requests as needed.

  • Researches and responds to routine inquiries from Worksite Employees, attorneys, courts, federal and state agencies, and other third party agencies regarding garnishment orders, and escalates non-routine and complex inquiries to the Payroll Manager and Director of HR as needed
  • Interacts with Payroll team and other departments, as needed, to answer garnishment questions and resolve issues

  • Provides progress reports to appropriate Engage team members

  • Sets up new state guidelines

  • Maintains Garnishment procedures and processes

  • Demonstrates integrity, ethics, accountability, responsibility, initiative and teamwork at all times

  • Performs all assigned job duties in accordance with Engage’s policies, procedures and standard practices

  • Performs other duties as assigned
