The role of the Benefits Project Manager is to provide project management for annual open enrollment. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management and content development skills with an ability to work across departments, manage changing and overlapping deadlines, and collaborate with both creative teams and key stakeholders to develop and execute effective open enrollment processes according to strict timelines.  This position plays a critical role in establishing and managing the successful completion of open enrollment thus requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities, communicate effectively with a client centric focus, develop effective solutions, and closely monitor open projects to closure.

Job Duties:

  • Work with Director of Benefits Operations to develop effective open enrollment strategies that drive specific actions and communicates the benefits of change
  • Manage and provide oversight around the development and maintenance of large-scale project plans for client and worksite employee base to ensure deliverables are executed according to schedule
  • Develop and/or edit content as needed to describe specific benefit scenarios – must have be able to understand complex benefit and compliance circumstances in order to explain clearly and drive the appropriate action
  • Interact with key stakeholders on a regular basis by leading meetings, resolving unique and difficult organizational issues, and presenting effective communication solutions 
  • Collaborate with strategic leads, designers, content developers and other team members to create effective deliverables
  • Peer review and direct the communications to deliver projects on time, in scope, and on budget 
  • Facilitate the review process and evaluate requested changes/edits with key stakeholders, includes hands-on execution of content development and refinement
  • Must be able to manage the life cycle of a complete open enrollment strategy, consisting of many key strategic pieces, while overseeing several other small projects and competing deadlines
  • Adapt to quickly changing priorities and direction at both a strategic and detailed level, while maintaining the highest level of accuracy and effectiveness
  • Internal interacts with all Engage departments, including Benefit Operations & Benefits Technology Group, Account Management, Implementation, Information Technology, and Payroll Operations
  • External interacts with Benefits Agency, Benefits carriers, and Print vendor

Requirements:

  • Solid business acumen and a combination of communication, problem-solving and negotiation skills

  • Strong knowledge of PEO, Benefits Administration, Benefits policies, practices and administrative procedures
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (i.e.  Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, etc.) required
  • Intermediate skills in HR Program Software and HRIS Systems preferred
  • Excellent Organizational Skills with a focus on time management
  • Ability to multi-task and manage project with a strong attention to detail
  • Experience creating project plans/timelines

  • Davison/HRP software experience
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in benefits administration
  • Familiarity with and understanding of employee benefit plans
  • Familiarity with PEO benefit operations
  • Knowledge of benefits policies, practices and administrative procedures
  • Outstanding client service abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to execute and implement benefits projects
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in PEO Benefit Operations and 5+ years’ experience in a PEO project management role working in a high pressure and fast paced environment preferred
  • Knowledge of and experience using PrismHR and ClientSpace software a plus
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) a plus
